PostSubject: Dantooine - Retying Old Knots -   Wed Jan 28, 2009 12:52 pm

(Terand and I talked about this already, let it be assumed I called him to this place through the force. Forgot to add the character I am using is Jedi Knight Roy)

Roy inhaled deeply on the dew ripened Dantooine air, disgusting sounds of snot and mucus moving deeply in to his nasal passage, and then out to the back of his throat. He moved his head to the side a bit and cracked his dull lips just enough for the contents of his action to be spat out, finding their way to the vibrant green grasses which littered the ground on this particular prairie. Straightening back he motioned his left arm upward just enough for his left pointer and ring fingers to touch the tip of his tattered black cowboy hat, adjusting it downward slightly. This coupled with the fading Dantooine sun cast a shadow down over the majority of his face. The darkness would hide most of his more youthful features, save for his perfect bone structure, but even that managed to hide behind the mangy mess of facial hair he had grown. Now an ever sloppy beard covered what was once a tanned twenty-one year old boy's face.

His clothes didn't give a much friendlier vibe, the brown trench coat which looked to have been protecting him from the elements for quite a number of years longer than designed was covered in tares and patches. The collar was popped up, obscuring from view most of the beard and lower face, and the rest of it stretched down to Roy's knees. The back was ragged, tares and tarnishes unraveled the seams and made it look like more of a cloak from the rear. It separated in the front, showing the lower half of a pitiful pair of denim pants, mostly black in color. Or at least, that was the color they produced after all the wear. The jeans tucked in to a pair of black boots which once produced an elaborately gorgeous tint... now it was evident they hadn't been shined since he'd made his leave all those months ago.

His appearance was far from the production of laziness, or for that matter, a fashion statement. No, the clothes were like the pages of a book, telling the tale of his time away from the galaxy.

For the past year or so, Roy had been training in Kai Busido, the deadliest hand to hand combat known to humans. With help from his master's vicious training on Kashyyyk, and a bit of assistance from his knack for the force, he had perfected the art in a lesser time than it would take an average humanoid to get past Master Hikku's ruthless preparation conditioning. However, as instigated by his general appearance, it was at a cost. The jungles of Kashyyyk are unforgiving, especially to humans. Roy brought little to assist in his journey other than the clothes on his back, and his physical demeanor paid dearly for that. Though his disappearance was without warning, he had stayed in tune with his comrades through the force. Sadly, near all the true Jedi that once roamed the galaxy as protectors of light were just as vanished as he was. Primarily, his old master, Desra Lodet, which he could still feel... but to state she was living was something Roy just couldn't bring himself to accept. All too familiar was the dark tint shrouding her signature, could she really have been converted? And what of the council? From what he had gathered, everyone was gone.

Sadness and desperation had clouded not only the Jedi Order, but the entire galaxy. Fortunately for all parties involved, Roy hadn't succumbed to this affliction. He had more pressing matters to attend, and the Jedi had waited far too long for him to fulfill the oath which he rightfully owed them. What exactly that entailed was still far too complicated for anyone to confidently predict. One thing he was sure as of late was that he needed to get in touch with the council, or whatever remnants of it his old Allys had left.

His nose twitched slightly, convulsing downward as if he were to do his inhaling habit again. Instead, his right arm extended up to his breast pocket, and he withdrew a package from the crevice of his jacket. Propping it open and pulling out an object, he placed it's end just far enough in to his mouth to pass the lips. All the while his left arm was nearly half way into his hip pocket, his hand digging around for something in particular. Feeling the metallic object with his thumb he got a firm grip and yanked it out. A cheap red lighter was produced from the pocket and extended up to the charred end of the cigar. A quick click of the button and he produced fire. Another great inhale and the lighter was already turned off and back in it's spot, along with the package. The charred cigar puffed a bit before glowing a faint orange which illuminated outward from underneath the sot. He inhaled and without opening his mouth, moving the smoke to the back of his throat almost swallowing it. A large exhale from his nose produced the smoke which had just vanished into his throat, streaming out of his nasal passage like a poltergeist.

Relaxing himself again he glanced to either side of his current position, using his eyes to navigate the foreign landscape. A kath hound caught his eye in the distance to his right, it appeared to be chasing some smaller creature up to the surrounding mountains. He mumbled a few sentences through his lips which couldn't move but a fraction of an inch in an attempt to hold the large cigar in place. Not much of what he said would be understood, but one or two words were comprehensible.

"Terand... late as hell..."

With this he removed his eyes from the spot he last saw the kath hound as the creature had vanished to the small pine forest. He took note of the overly tall hill just in front of him, taking all that laid directly North if it out of view. Curious as to who or what it concealed, he started his hike upwards, following the grassy path paved by one of the various inhabitants of this prairie. The faint sound of his boots smashing down on the plant parts and gravel which laid beneath them echoed outward for a few yards, surely scaring away any animal in the vicinity. With only a few feet to go before he would stand level with the top of the hill he took another large puff of the cigar and then removed it from his mouth, keeping it locked between his pointer and ring finger for easy reentry at his leisure.

Stepping atop the level tip of the hill he made his way over to the opposite rounded edge of it. Peering over into what his curiosity had anxiously wanted to discover, it became even more evident to him that he was truly in one of the most remote locations on Dantooine. Laid down in front of him was something out of a artist's rendering of mother nature herself... a river curved and bended through the lush green valley, the water so pure it looked like a blue serpent from above. Animal life was abundant, various creatures could be seen all around the massive body of water, and the trees themselves seemed an army of gorgeous green troops awaiting their commander's orders. Truly a site to be had, one of the only places in this galaxy that hadn't been soiled by humanoids. What a magnificent find it would have been for just about anyone in the galaxy, except for Roy.

Call it ignorance, call it bitterness, but the only action the man preformed upon finding such a lavish place was take another puff from his cigar, which was currently dwindling down to Roy's fingers as he removed it from his mouth once again, releasing the smoke cloud just before turning back to the middle of the topside. Almost bored, he grunted a few more words before bringing his attention back to the cigar.

"Terand Ranus.... where the hell are you Terand Ranus."
